Music is the Access to the Soul

For the title sequence music was a very important aspect. I wanted to find a song that carried a similar theme to the movie but had to tell the story quite quickly, 20 seconds to be exact.
I found the the soft, beautiful voice of Emiliana Torrini fitted the need perfectly.
The song I chose is called Unemployed in Summertime and you can view it at the link below.

Title Sequence Screen Grabs

Just in case you don't get to see Bottled Up I have decided to be kind and add some screen grabs of the title sequence for you.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the stars of the film (in no particular order) : Maria McGann, Audrey Cameron, Georgia Engel and my pet bird Laurie.
Just for your information Laurie was easily the best actor!

Labels for Titles

For the title sequence we decided to go with film to contrast the stop frame animation and also add some flare by mucking with the bottle labels featured in the footage.
All the labels contained information about Bottled Up.
We tried to replicate a water bottle label that is currently on the market and alter it slightly, can you pick which one???

Promotional Pack 2

I almost forgot we also have a DVD and poster for Bottled Up.
We tried to keep the animation feel and opted for going with illustration.
The title sequence is also keeping with the bottle feel and we know you will enjoy it!
Bottled Up will be screening at the Moondance festival in February so keep your eyes out!

The Final Final Logo

This is the final logo for Bi-Polar Bear productions. There are different variations of the same logo. The variations are: full colour, black and white, mono colour, and small mono colour.
I am really happy with the look and feel of this logo. I felt that the logo needed a Polar Bear in there somewhere, but didn't want to make it too dominant. The use of he blues compliment the polar aspect and take the focus of the negative connotation of the Bi-Polar disorder.

The Final Three

Here are my final three logo choices from my 10 initial concepts. The font is still hand rendered but ultimately there will be a digital, more pleasing font used for the Final final logo.
I personally liked these three and would be happy to use any of them.
Nest Post will be the final digitalised version.

Cheers

Bi-Polar Logo Initial Drafts

These were the initial 10 rough drafts for Bi-Polar Bear productions logo. I narrowed them down to 3 and refined them a little further. I really enjoyed playing around with the Polar Bear idea. It is quite difficult to draw bears for the first time.
Look out for my next post when I will show the final 3!!!!.

More Title Inspiration

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivFAuqpeaz4

This is the title sequence for the TV series 'United States of Tara'. I think that the style is absolutely amazing and very entertaining. It would be great to be able to create a title sequence similar to this but with a watery theme.

Stop Motion Title Influence

www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcawYDvZeqE

This YouTube link is of a title sequence made from stop frame animation. The quality and finishing of this clip is not of a professional which is part of the reason I like it. This clip also uses split screens which is a great effect although probably not utilised to full capacity.
Overall I like the feel of this clip and will use it as a guide but try and extend the overall quality.
